Statistics by Chongqing Postal Service Administration shows that about 22 million packages and pieces of mail, 30% more than that in 2014, will be delivered to Chongqing after the "Double Eleventh" (namely November 11th) online shopping day. Local express companies said the delivery peak will start from November 13th, lasting around one week.
The "Double Eleventh", November 11th each year, refers to a large-scale shopping and promotion carnival represented by e-commerce businesses rising all over China. Since 2009, upon each November 11th, large e-commerce websites represented by Tmall.com, JD.com and Suning.com generally would take advantage of the day to carry out some large-scale discount and promotion activities to improve sales volume. As a result, the day has gradually become China's largest network commercial promotion carnival. (CQNEWS)
