On February 3rd, at Shapingba District's Three Gorges Square, a literature & art volunteer drew a portrait for a sanitary worker for free. "This is the first time for me to be portrayed by someone, and I will hang the portrait up in a fine place in my home," said Deng Xueming, the worker. Last month, the Shapingba District Federation of Literature and Art Circles offered the "I Draw a Portrait for You" Public Service Activity. Over 30 volunteers entered communities and squares to draw free portraits for over 100 citizens. Subjects chosen for the portraits included the elderly who are unable to move freely and sanitary workers. The portraits were freely given as a special Spring Festival gift.
