Xi’an International Trade and Logistics Park landed a major deal at the recently-concluded Hamburg Summit in Germany.

This year’s summit, the seventh held in the German city, took place from Nov 23-26 and focused on promoting trade and economic cooperation between Chinese and German companies.

On Nov 24, Xi'an International Inland Port Investment & Development Group - which is funded by the Xi’an International Logistics Park (ITL Park) to take care of its investment and development strategies - signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Linde International Logistics Group to build a bonded warehouse in Frankfurt.

Linde International Logistics Group was one of the earliest logistics companies to access the global market. It managed logistical operations at Parchim International Airport and the bonded business park attached to it, after its acquisition of foreign capital in 2007. The airport is situated in the northern state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommen and connects Hamburg and Berlin.

The rich international logistics experience and transportation resources of Linde are expected to benefit the overseas business of the ITL Park. Representatives of the two sides expect the initiative to enhance their cooperation in logistics, international trade and cross-border e-commerce.

“The agreement has made northern Germany an important area of cooperation. I hope that the ITL park will seize the opportunity to break new ground in Germany and contribute to the Sino-German relationship and the Belt and Road Initiative,” said Sun Congbin, consul of Chinese consulate in Hamburg.

After the signing ceremony, the ITL park delegation toured warehouse facilities outside Parchim International Airport and learned about the international railway business, and passenger and cargo services of transportation giant Deustche Bahn.
