CHONGQING(CQNEWS)--On the afternoon of December 1st, the “Landscapes – 2016 Landscape Oil Painting Invitation Exhibition” opened in the No. 1 exhibition hall of the Chongqing Art Museum, with 116 pieces of works on display. The exhibition is set to last until December 25th and admission is free.

People always have different attitudes about nature: for villagers, nature is what they rely on for a living; for tourists, nature is full of clean air; for mountaineers, nature is filled with difficulties and obstacles. However, for artists, nature is often the end-result of soul. The realm of art has greatly expanded nowadays. In order to seek the freedom and echo for body and mind, a large number of artists return to nature to enjoy the joy of creation. They find creative release through trekking about different regions regardless of the weather.

According to the Chongqing Art Museum, eleven artists are showing works in the exhibition. They are professors from various universities and colleges in Chongqing. Having been engaged in art creation for years they are from an “older generation”. However, for the landscape art in contemporary China, they are inspiring the “new generation”.
