Chongqing’s post-95s girl goes to Peru for APEC meeting

CHONGQING(CQNEWS)--How hard is it to persevere? One girl made it far because she perseveres in her interest. A few days ago, Kang Yaoyue, a senior from Southwest University, returned to Chongqing from Peru. Kang, who won the title in the finals of APEC Voices of the Future (VOF) China Competition hosted by China Chamber of International Commerce, went to Lima, the capital city of Peru, to attend the 2016 official APEC meeting as a youth delegate of China. At the 2016 APEC VOF Cultural Exchange Party held in Peru, Kang Yaoyue, a post-95s senior from Chongqing won the applause of the guests and audience presenting “I will survive” with surging passion. As one of the youth delegates from China, Kang in her fourth year at Southwest University.

How could a university student in Chongqing be associated with the world-famous international meeting? Her story began several months ago. By chance, Kang saw an application link online and clicked it out of curiosity and was immediately attracted by the description of the APEC Voices of the Future China Competition. She signed up and started participating in round after round of the competition. As an English major, she had a solid foundation in English, which allowed her to battle her way to the national finals held in Beijing.
