2016-12-15 09:44:02

Hospital staff members from the Xi’an International Trade and Logistics Park set up clinics in rural areas on Dec 9 to provide free health checkups and medicine to residents there.

Under the direction of the park’s management committee, the medical team set up clinics in two villages in Bayuan county that fall into the poverty alleviation agenda of the logistics park.

The medical team diagnosed more than 300 patients on the day, distributed medicine worth 4,000 yuan ($579) and made 200 prescriptions. The majority of patients were elderly whose children have gone to cities to make a living, and lack access to quality medical resources.

The medical staff members gave detailed explanations of their diagnoses and used sophisticated medical equipment. They also conducted health examinations for villagers, answered questions about how to keep fit and explained how to prevent and treat high blood pressure and diabetes.

The medical team will visit another five villages in the county.
