A winter running competition was recently held in Karamay No 16 Middle School in Karamay, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

Jointly sponsored by an education support group from Henan Normal University and Karamay No 16 Middle School, the competition featured both a student and a teaching staff competition.

Loud cheers for the runners transformed the school playground into a sea of joy.

“Long-distance running in winter helps to strengthen students' health and forges strong psychological qualities, such as discipline and a collaborative spirit,” said Yu Shuang, a member from the Henan Normal University education support group.
