Companies producing products of outstanding quality in Chengdu’s Wenjiang district are to be honored by local authorities, according to a report in China Quality Daily on Feb 2.
Wenjiang launched a “Government Quality Award” in 2015, becoming the first district in Chengdu to do so. The biennial award selects no more than five winners from local companies and organizations with prize money of 200,000 yuan ($29,112) available.
The setting up of the award is to encourage companies to pursue excellence in production and raise brand awareness, according to Jing Renzhi, deputy chief of Wenjiang, at a rally ahead of this year’s quality competition.
The rally also invited some experts to give lectures on quality management and innovation to companies.
