On February 17-19, the 2017 China Barista Championship Chongqing Division, known as the “Coffee Olympics”, will be held at Liangjiang TMG Arts Center in Liangjiang New Area. There, 25 baristas with excellent coffee-making skills from many west provinces and cities such as Chongqing, Yunnan and Xinjiang will compete for the championship in the Chongqing Division. The winner will go on competing in the China finals and eventually the World Barista Championship.

Started in 2000, the World Barista Championship (WBC) honored as “Coffee Olympics”, is held in a different city every year and has attracted baristas from over 50 countries to participate in. All the baristas are the champions of the divisions in their own countries. Currently, China Barista Championship is the most professional coffee making competition with systematic operation and international certification in China.

Therefore, the competitors are all coffee professionals, while the judges are composed of previous champions of China Barista Championship or professionals have served as judges for famous barista competitions.
