The most historic: Shancheng (mountain city) Footpath (about 1.7km)

Unlike the above famous places, the Shancheng Footpath is a less known scenic spot that shows the special topography of Chongqing.

The footpath is on Zhongxing Road, Yuzhong District, and from North to South, the Zhongshan Hospital, Kangjiantang (a theatre playing anti-war drama and films), Bodhi Tower, former site of French Benevolence Hall, overhead walkway and other historical sites and traditional blocks are located along the footpath.

The highest point of the footpath is near the Bodhi Tower and the lowest point is near the entrance of Shancheng Lane, with altitude difference of 79.5m. It is a footpath full of Chongqing features.

The well-known relics near the footpath may have been forgotten or disappeared, but the footpath is well retained. If you plan to understand the history of Chongqing footpath, do not miss it.
