Jiangbei District

Because it is located north of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers, it is called “Jiangbei” (the north of river). It was changed from Chongqing Dier (the second) District to Jiangbei District in 1955.

Shapingba District

A plain sandbank of Yangtze River. Shapingaba was a small sandbank and was a main cultural area of the Shaci District during the Anti-Japanese War. It was officially named Shapingba District in 1955.
