Chengdu’s Wenjiang district will carry out 12 water protection projects from Feb 9, according to the Chengdu water authority.

The projects include the control of outlets and the regulation of sewage.

“We hope that the water environment of Wenjiang district can be largely improved in three years,” said an official from the Wenjiang district water authority.

The official also pointed out that the district’s Jiang’an River water protection project is also the first public-private partnership (PPP) in the district.

“After the project is complete, our water quality and utilization of water resources will be largely improved,” the official added.
