With spring approaching, Wenjiang's bonsai products have been preparing to transform and upgrade, as the operation of the Chengdu-Europe Express Rail has given the district's bonsai merchants unprecedented access to the Europe market.

According to Hu Shixun, director of the Wenjiang Bonsai Association, an increasing number of travelers have visited Wenjiang’s gardens in recent years. Bonsai products have played an important role in improving the garden’s landscapes.

Through the development of the bonsai industry, local merchants are also working towards transforming and upgrading the district's bonsai industry structure.

"We are now making an effort to sell our bonsai products to Europe, and at the same time we are developing the micro-bonsai products," said Hu.

According to Wenjiang authorities, a lot of local merchants are preparing to sell their bonsai products to foreign countries. To promote the survival rate of exported bonsai products, soilless culturing techniques have been reasoned as the future direction of development.
