New metro line to connect central Chengdu with Wenjiang

Feasibility study reports for constructing Chengdu’s Metro Line 11 and 17 were approved by the Sichuan Development and Reform Commission, according to Chengdu Metro Ltd.
The approval of the reports means that two new metro lines will be constructed in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province.
According to the plan, the 25.8-kilometer Metro Line 17 will connect Chengdu’s city center with the Wenjiang district. According to Chengdu authorities, the construction project of Metro Line 17 will start in 2017.
The 22-kilometer Metro Line 11 will also begin construction this year. Metro Line 11 will pass through 19 stations, and connect Chengdu’s city center with the Tianfu new district after 48 months of construction.
