Origins of Chongqing's place name

Ciqikou
This name originates from china (ciqi). In the Record of Baxian, it said that “the porcelain bowl produced at the Qingcaopo ancient kiln is famous and welcomed by the villagers after adding color ceramic glaze. The local people also call it Ciqikou.”
Jiefangbei
The public all know this. Chongqing was liberated on November 30, 1949. The Southwest Military Administrative Committee decided to rebuild the “Victory Monument” and change it to “People’s Liberation Monument” (short to “Jiefangbei”), inscribed by Liu Bocheng, Chairman of the Committee.
Origin of “Gongli”
