“Pandas” of plant kingdom in Chongqing

CHONGQING(CQNEWS)--It was the fourth “World Wildlife Day” on March third. Do you know what wild plants we have in Chongqing? Recently, the Chongqing Forestry Bureau issued the result of the Second National Key Protected Wild Plants Investigation, including 8 national first-grade plants, 28 national second-grade plants and 18 municipal key protected plants. Nine new species have been confirmed.

Chongqing processes more than 6,000 kinds of wild tracheophyte (1302 classes and 227 categories), including 9 national first-grade key protected wild plants (davidia involucrate, cathaya argyrophylla, Taxus chinensis, Taxus chinensis var. mairei Cheng et L. K, Bretschneidera sinensis, metasequoia, etc.), 39 national second-grade key protected wild plants (nanmu, spicy camphor, tulip poplar, cercidiphyllum japonicum, cibotium barometz, etc.) and 46 municipal key protected wild plants (western red cedar, corrugated adiantum, cam ranh, etc.).
