The Summer Is Gone nominated for four awards wins glory for domestic films
As the only official international film festival in Malaysia, the Malaysia International Film Festival, hosted by the Film Association of Malaysia, has extremely high influence and communication capacity around the globe.
The appearance of the film at the festival on behalf of Chinese films has not only won glory for domestic films, but also serves as an encouragement to new directors for creation, which is worth expecting.
As the first film by director Zhang Dalei, the film has not only won overwhelming public praise, but also won multiple awards at famous film festivals. Moreover, it has set a precedent of an independent film by a young director and starring non-professional actors winning the Best Story of Golden Horse Award.
The film not only has competed at the Malaysia International Film Festival, but also has been invited to be screened as part of the International Film Festival in Rotterdam and to compete at the Miami International Film Festival. (Translated by Tang Zhiqiang, Fathom Language Limited)
