OCT has invested over 30 billion yuan in Chongqing, of which over 5 billion is involved in tourist projects. In addition to Happy Valley and Playa Maya, OTC will also build a sports park, an ecological park and a riverside leisure belt in Chongqing to complete the layout of “four parks and one belt”.

Theme park operators start to snatch the market share in Chongqing

Theme parks that have started business or are about to start business this year include Chongqing Creation Valley, Sheng Ming World Trade City, Banan Polar Ocean Park, Dazu Amusement Park, Fengdu Magic Valley, Chongqing Euro Theme Park and Flower Port Theme Park. The time for theme parks in Chongqing is about to arrive.

OCT’s “trump card”

At present, tens of large engineering vehicles were operating at the same time for an OCT project in Lijia, with main attractions such as ferris wheel and roller coaster nearly completed.

There are two roller coasters at Chongqing Happy Valley, with one claiming to be the longest in China and a global leader in technology. The other is a wooden structure which will make a “squeaking” sound when passengers ride it, which adds to the excitement. In addition, the Ferris wheel is 120 meters high, the highest in Southwest China and the sixth highest in the world.

In addition to the facilities, the unique mountainous environment in Chongqing has added much color to the OCT projects in Chongqing. Happy Valley is built in the mountains with a height of 60m; Playa Maya is built along a stream finally flowing into Jialing River, with a height of 70m. Compared with other theme parks, OCT’s projects in Chongqing are more three-dimensional and spectacular.

It is estimated that Happy Valley and Playa Maya will hold 38,000 visitors at most with 2,300 visitors able to use amusement facilities at the same time. They are expected to attract over three million visitors a year. Calculated according to the per capita consumption of 150 yuan (the admission ticket for Happy Valley is about 200 yuan and about 120 yuan for Playa Maya), the ticket revenue alone can reach 450 million yuan a year.
