“Yubao”, “Yubei” & “Liangyue”

CHONGQING(CQNEWS)--On the morning of March 18, the ceremony for naming pandas was held at Chongqing Zoo, with the appearance of pandas attracting all attractions. Chongqing Zoo had three pandas in the last year and now they are respectively named as “Yubao”, “Yubei” & “Liangyue”.

On July 11, 2016, panda “Lanxiang” gave birth to a pigeon pair which was the first survival panda twins of Chongqing Zoo. On September 19, 2016, panda “Yaya” gave birth to triplets, but only one female baby survived. In January 2017, Chongqing Zoo held the activity for naming the three baby pandas. Through a series of selection, there were ten groups of names were emerging. Finally, “Yubao”, “Yubei” & “Liangyue” were selected as their names.
