Shanghai volunteers donate books for Hechi school library

Xingli, a remote village in the Disu township of Du'an Yao ethnic county in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has witnessed the establishment of its first small library on March 10.

A group of volunteers from Shanghai, along with volunteers from Du'an, delivered 2,500 books to Xingli Primary School to set up the very first library for local students. The books, of various subjects including science, music and literature, were both donated by the volunteers and purchased using public charity funds.

The small library is expected to open a new window of learning for the children living in this remote area, said one of the volunteers.
