CHONGQING(CQNEWS)--After being closed for over 100 days, the upgraded Youyang Taohuayuan (Peach Garden) Scenic Spot reopened with a new appearance on March 22nd.

Admire the Qin-style ancient charm, wear Qin costumes and live the life of the Qin people… From scenic spot construction, touring route organization to landscape renovation and cultural packaging, the upgraded scenic spot has presented the form and spirit of the Peach Garden vividly with more expression of the “Qin style”.

On December 1st, 2016, Youyang Taohuayuan, a national 5A level scenic spot, officially announced its closure. At that time, the news aroused heated discussions.

There has been no precedent of a national 5A level scenic spot closing itself for upgrading in China. Though with increasing public praise and rising reputation, Taohuayuan “put pressure on itself”, to enrich people’s knowledge of the Qin culture by building the only Peach Blossom Spring theme cultural tourism area in China.

There are two Taohuayuans in the world: one in your heart, the other in Youyang, Chongqing. When talking about the closure, the person in charge of the Youyang Taohuayuan Tourism Investment Group expressed that the scenic spot would better restore the Shangri-La from the pen of Tao Yuanming, provide tourists with better taste and experience and make the slogan more impressive.

“Be faithful to the original and restore both the form and spirit.” The upgraded Youyang Taohuayuan has been renovated by completely following the description in Peach Blossom Spring by Tao Yuanming.

On the basis of the original resource endowment of the scenic spot, more Qin and Jin elements have been added, such as scenes of Qin villages and the modern interpretation of the Qin and Jin cultures. These highlight the secluded, remote, peaceful and harmonious idyllic pictures of men farming and women weaving at the Shangri-La.

After over 100 days of great effort, Taohuayuan has lived up to its promise and brought to tourists the experience of traveling back over 2,000 years. (Translated by Tang Zhiqiang, Fathom Language Limited)
