Before the start of the formal lights-out ceremony, three teams formed by environmental volunteers from Chongqing University, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications and Ofo Bike-sharing brought wonderful competitions of fun games.

The biking contest

The most fierce game was the biking contest, in which the Chongqing University Team and the Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications Team had an intense contest and tied several times. An extra game had to be added and finally the Chongqing University Team won.

Earth Hour Global Lights-out Ceremony makes the concept of environmental protection popular.

Earth Hour, initiated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is the largest environmental protection movement with global participation, advocating the public, enterprises and governments to switch off unnecessary lights and other power-consuming equipment for an hour to express the concern over climate change.

At 20:30 on the day, Chongqing SM City Plaza together with other 67 SM City Plazas all over the world simultaneously switched off the lights. With the countdown on the big screen, the environmental volunteers at the scene dimmed the lights on their mobile phones to feel the peaceful and clear night sky.
