Guiyang helps disabled to find work

2017-04-10 09:45:58

Guiyang city plans to create some 1,200 jobs for disabled people this year through the support of local businesses and vocational training, Guiyang Daily reported on April 5, citing the local Disabled Persons’ Federation.

The organization said it will also open 12 demonstration sites for the employment of disabled people, incentivize farmers, self-employed individuals and their companies, and host vocational training for as many as 5,000 people.

Guiyang’s local government is calling on social organizations to provide more help for the disabled, especially in the field of professional training and home care. At present, disabled people benefit from many government policies, including fuel subsidies and housing with disabled access.

For health reasons, more rehabilitation projects will be established in Guiyang, including rehabilitation services for children with disabilities and lottery-funded welfare projects.
