Led by Liu Jinfu, deputy director of Karamay district, a delegation from Karamay arrived at China’s westernmost city of Kashgar, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on March 28, seeking cooperation to promote local economic development.

Discussions on information-related industries were had between the Karamay delegation and officials taking charge of construction of Kashgar Smart City. Karamay district will support local enterprise Xinjiang Silk Road Jinyin Internet IT Co Ltd to build a cloud calling center in Kashgar.

Both sides talked things over some specific works, including site selection, decoration, equipment installation and personnel recruitment and training.

The project is expected to set up 135 voice service positions after its first stage is finished, which will provide 405 jobs for Kashgar locals providing an average monthly income of over 2,500 yuan ($363). In the future, information-related projects including e-commerce platforms will continue to settle down in Kashgar to create jobs and extend businesses.

Liu Jinfu said that the cooperation between Karamay district and Kashgar is part of the region’s efforts on poverty alleviation.

The Karamay district will further support Kashgar in various aspects, including in its IT industry, education, tourism, entrepreneurship training, and agricultural products marketing, to accelerate comprehensive economic development in the city, Liu added.
