CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- This is a prime place for enthusiastic hikers: Hantu Village, with its blue sky and agreeable fragrance of Syringa tomentella. Recently, hikers of all ages joined in a public activity, “seeking nostalgic memories about the mother town in mine park.”

According to Gong Changsheng, the activity’s organizer, as a native dweller of Chongqing, he is enthusiastic about both hiking and historical research of ancient Chongqing. Thus, he feels compelled to organize this activity, enabling more people to have some knowledge about his mother town. “Situated beside G319, Hantu Village, with its scenic beauty and ancient mine park, is an ideal place for us to search for the nostalgic memories about mother town,” he said.

Located in the northern area of Yufeng Mountain Forest Park, the mine park accommodates no natural drinking water sources. And a series of pits with water of green color can be the product of both karst landform and rainwater accumulation. Their depths range from 2 to 30 meters. Guided by Lei Shixiu, the secretary of Hantu Village, visitors can know more about the mine park and mother town.

They not only can visit the vineyard and walk along hiking trail, but also have a taste of wine and learn its production process at the Yating Wine Estate. The 200-meter Shikong Corridor, the impressive the entrance to Hantu Village, is densely covered by vegetation, presenting itself as a good place for hikers to enjoy the cool and take photos.

The activities centering on seeking memories will continue, with quaint places as their next destination. The transmission of history and culture of ancient Chongqing can be achieved in this way. (Translated by Zeng Lijin, Fathom Language Limited)
