Chongqing students to represent China in RoboCup

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Students of Chongqing No.8 Secondary School took the championship in the Contest of Dancing Robot (Group of Secondary Schools) at the China Qualification Trial of RoboCup. In addition, they are also the only team that had a score exceeding 100. This July, they are going to represent China to compete with world-leading contestants in Japan.

RoboCup is the largest international robot competition for teenagers, and the Trial has attracted 418 teams, with over 2,000 contestants throughout China. Chongqing No. 8 Secondary School appointed 8 contestants, namely Yu Haoru, Luo Xi, Xiao Yang, Wang Yifei, Zheng Ziyuyang, Yang Jiahao, Yang Yimin and Li Manjing.

Many of these contestants have been awarded in the China Adolescents Science and Technology Innovation Contest. For example, Zheng Ziyuyang and Yang Jiahao have taken part in interest-oriented classes regarding robots since junior high school and studied electrical machines and programming. In the 31st China Adolescents Science and Technology Innovation Contest, their robot for coffee carving was awarded with the first prize for creation and invention of Group of Senior High Schools.
