Zhenfeng county held an agricultural fair in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, on April 28 to display the county’s specialty produce.

Located in the Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, Zhenfeng county is known for its glutinous rice foods. Grey zongzi (grey glutinous rice dumplings) are the most acclaimed dish of the county.

Over the past years, Zhenfeng county has carried out a number of poverty relief measures, including developing new industries, relocating members of the poverty-stricken population and improving local education. More than 13,000 people from 3,049 households have managed to overcome poverty.

Enterprises participating in the fair displayed more than 20 varieties of agricultural products, with 24 enterprises signing contracts valued at approximately 500,000 yuan ($72,548) at the promotional fair.
