1. Jiangbgei Tieshanping Forest Park

Located in the east of the Chongqing urban area and the south section of Tongluoxia Mountain, Tieshanping Forest Park covers an area of 14.93km2, with highest altitude of 583.9m and forest coverage rate exceeding 90%. It is one of the four green barriers in the Chongqing urban area. Seated at a good location, it is only 20kms from the urban center. In addition to rich natural resources, there are many cultural and historical landscapes. It is one of the most popular parks in the urban area.

2. Jiangjin Simian Mountain National Scenic Area

Located in the southwest of Jiangjin, the Simian Mountain National Scenic Area is 90km from the Jiangjin urban area. The altitude of the mountain is higher in south than the north. With a forest coverage rate up to 95.41%, there are many precious animals and plants. The scenic area has been recognized as a “National Species Gene Pool” by an ecological protection specialist from the UN. There are eight large scenic regions and 128 scenic spots, including the famous “Love Ladder”, “The Highest Waterfall” – (Wangxiangtai Waterfall with height of 158m and width of 48m), the “The Best Heart in the World”- the largest heart-shape landscape in China and the “Colorful Waterfall”.

3. Kaizhou Hanfeng Lake National Wetland Park

The Hanfeng Lake National Wetland Park is in the Kaizhou District, in the northeast of Chongqing. Spanning 12.51km from east to west and 5.86km from south to north, covering a water area of 15km2, Hanfeng lake is an unique artificial lake formed by the construction of the Three Gorges Project. The park, with water and forest coverage reaching 98%, has about 2,000 kinds of animals and plants, and the air quality there always meets the national primary standard.
