CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Huaxie Cup 2017 Soong Ching-ling “Excellent Children in This Era” Piano Competition (elite) & Caring Donation Activity has begun. On May 14th, the 80 child pianists, winners of the preliminary contest, will play in the finals at the Three Gorges Museum.

Chongqing Soong Ching-ling’s former residence, as the demonstration base of “Excellent Children in This Era,” awarded by the Soong Ching-ling Foundation Office, has conducted a series of activities focusing on the development of women and children, which was the life-long pursuit of our respected Soong Ching-ling. It also serves to enhance the museum’s education function.

To answer the call of animating cultural relics, the Soong Ching-ling Competition employed a British “JOHN BRINSMEAD & SONS” piano, once played by Soong Ching-ling, in an attempt to build the atmosphere conducive to the development of women, children, and teenagers.

During the two-month-long activity, preliminary contest, finals, and performing & donating will take place. On April 23rd, more than 200 child pianists played in the preliminary contest, and the 80 winners will play in the finals at the Three Gorges Museum on May 14th.

On May 26th, many representatives will attend the performing & donating, including representatives of Soong Ching-ling’s former residences, foundations, halls of fame from six provinces, museums in Chongqing, winners in this piano competition, as well as schools founded by Soong Ching-ling and received donations from the Soong Ching-ling foundation.
