The 3rd Chengdu Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair will open on May 10 at the Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center.

The Chengdu government has endeavored to build the fair into a friendly platform for exchanges through the organization of 34 major and 19 coordinated activities, including high-end meetings, achievements exhibitions, business deals and innovation contests.

“We will invite distinguished guests from universities, institutes, and entrepreneurial firms to share their views on innovation”, said Wu Kai, chairman of Chengdu’s Federation of Trade Unions.

Currently, over 600 people from 43 countries, including Nobel Prize winners, academicians, government officials and business leaders, have expressed a willingness to attend the event.

Inaugurated in 2015, the annual fair has proved a successful enterprise for Chengdu, earning 18.5 billion yuan ($2.7 billion) in 2016.
