Xi'an regulates public bike market

2017-05-10 09:39:42

The Xi’an Municipal Price Bureau announced on May 4 that charges for the use of public bicycles will fluctuate with the market to facilitate the travel of citizens.

The new measures stipulate that the use of public bikes for the first hour will be free of charge, making their use more affordable. With designated parking areas, it will be easier to locate public bikes during non-peak periods.

With four bike-sharing companies currently operating in the city, the new measures are an effective way to improve market competition and offer more options for citizen transportation.

Public bikes are a supplement to Xi'an's public transportation. Price management institutions and citizens will supervise the execution of the new provisions to ensure price transparency and normal operations.
