CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On May 8th, the Germany Dusseldorf City Library Book Donation Ceremony, jointly organized by the Chongqing Library and the Consulate-general of German Federal Republic in Chengdu, was held at the Chongqing Library. The Consul General Klaus Schmidt donated books to Chongqing Library on behalf of Dusseldorf City Library.
It was reported that 28 German books were donated, including books relating to tourism and economics of Dusseldorf and North Rhine-Westphalia and works of famous writers like Günter Grass and Heinrich Heine. These books will be put in the Foreign Books Area at the fourth floor of Chongqing Library and made available for readers.
In June 2012, the Chongqing Library donated Chinese books to Dusseldorf City Library and set up a “Window of Chongqing – Chinese Reading Corner” there. The book donation allows more people outside of China learn Chinese and Chongqing culture, and serves as a platform for further cooperation between the two countries.
