The opening ceremony for the 2017 China Intelligent Transport Big Data Application Innovation Contest was held at the Guizhou Park Hotel in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, on May 5 with an audience of over 200 in attendance.

Organized to help improve big data traffic monitoring and management, the contest will reward a total of two million yuan ($290,609) over three prize tiers. Winning projects will also receive additional support if they choose to develop in Guizhou.

Participants can apply for the contest worldwide on the official website (http://www.et-data.com) from May 6 to July 17.
