2017-05-16 09:38:46

Since its first departure from Kazakhstan in 2013, the "Chang'an" train has continued to provide freight services between Xi'an and a number of cities of the Belt and Road.

As of March 2017, the "Chang'an" freight train has completed 294 runs carrying a total of 460,000 tons of cargo to 281 Asian cities and 14 European cities.

The Xi'an Aiju Grain and Oil Industrial Group is one of the beneficiaries of the train's services. "These freight trains have greatly promoted transportation efficiency and saved shipping costs for our company," said Liu Dongmeng, vice president of Xi'an Aiju Grain and Oil Industrial Group.

Considering the convenience that the "Chang'an" freight trains brings, many companies are looking to settle in Xi'an. Both the COFCO Corporation and the Yihai Kerry Group plan to take advantage of the trains to import grain and oil products from Kazakhstan to transform Xi'an into a grain and oil hub.
