CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The azalea has long been the emotional symbol in traditional Chinese culture, which can be seen in the melodies of “when azalea blossoms cover the whole mountain, the soldiers of Red army will return” or in the nostalgic poetry of “just as the cuckoo was the emblem of Shu Kingdom, the azalea is the symbol of Xuancheng”. Recently, the Map of Azaleas in Chongqing has been jointly released by the Chongqing Urban Planning Bureau and the Chongqing Geographic Information Center. The map encompasses 20 of the most desirable azalea appreciation sites in Chongqing. Let’s appreciate the undulated azalea ocean with our beloved ones in sunny days!

With the terrain of hills and mountains, the harmonious climate, and a fairly good ecological environment, Chongqing is an ideal place for azaleas to blossom. Naturally, Chongqing boasts of abundant azalea resources, among which those in Jinfo Mountain, in the Nanchuan district, and Hongchiba, in the Wuxi county, enjoy widespread fame in the whole nation for their rich varieties and considerable size.
