An AI robot terminal was installed in Guiyang's Guanshanhu community on May 16 to offer local residents intelligent services.

Xiao Ai, the first community services robot in Guiyang, was produced by local high-tech company Xiaoi Robot Technology Co. Installed with a digital knowledge base, the terminal is able to answer community service questions, including those related to social security and government policies.

Apart from the ability to recognize and speak human languages, Xiao Ai also has the ability to learn.

"If asked a new question, Xiao Ai will record it and update its database to answer the same question next time," said an engineer at Xiaoi Robot Technology Co.

The company has also created another intelligent unit called Xiaoi to serve as the virtual host during the opening ceremony of the upcoming 2017 Guiyang Big Data Expo.

In order to build modern smart communities, Guiyang has cooperated with Xiaoi Robot Technology Co to utilize artificial intelligence (AI), big data and cloud services to create intelligent platforms for political services.

The move has cut red tape, saved time and decreased the labor of government staff members as well.
