A public competition organized by the district tourism bureau of Chengdu’s Wenjiang district was launched on May 19 to find the most beautiful garden in the region.

The competition will include three stages with the top 10 most beautiful gardens each winning an award of 1,000 yuan ($145.13). All visitors to Wenjiang can join in the vote via the official WeChat account of Chengdu’s Wenjiang district tourism bureau (WeChat ID: cdwjly) or the official WeChat account of the competition sponsor (WeChat ID: czxt517).

Gao Xiaochun, director of the Wenjiang district tourism bureau, said that Wenjiang received 14.9 million tourists in 2016, earning a total income of 6.1 billion yuan ($880 million). “We will make efforts in continue promoting and upgrading Wenjiang’s tourism industry in 2017,” Gao said.
