Jinfo Mountain in Nanchuan district

Brief introduction

Jinfo Mountain, located beside the 30 degree line of northern latitude and within the region of Nanchuan district, Chongqing, belongs to the northern part of the vein of Dalou Mountain. It covers an area of 1,300 square kilometers, among which the scenic spot covers 441 square kilometers. Its highest peak boasts of an altitude of 2,238 meters. With its forest coverage rate of over 95%, it is famed as the “exhibition hall of natural plants”. As the old saying goes that, “the golden Buddha, so tremendous and impressive, covers itself among mists and clouds”. During sunny days in spring and summer, light of the setting sun makes the mountain colorful and glow, which looks like a golden Buddha emitting light. The scenery is so impressive that people come to call it Jinfo (Golden Buddha) Mountain.

Bus tips: visitors can take bus to Nanchuan in Caiyuanba Bus Station, Longtousi Bus Station, and Nanping Bus Station and take bus to the west slope of Jinfo Mountain.
