CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to the Chongqing Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, two Asian small-clawed otters were introduced from Netherlands to Chongqing and would be quarantined for 30 days.
It is the first introduction of the Asian small-clawed otter to Chongqing. The Asian small-clawed otter is the smallest otter in the world, with body length of 50cm, eating fish, insects and sometimes mice. Due to pollution of habitat, small-clawed otters are rare. The two otters introduced were artificially reared in a Netherlands zoo. After 30 days’ quarantine, they will be exhibited in Chongqing Andover Ocean Park.
