Hesheng county in Chengdu's Wenjiang district is known as one of the city's best tourism destination. The county has announced plans to construct the first Vacation Farm Town, according to local Hesheng authorities.

Located in the north of the Wenjiang district, Hesheng county owns 37,000 mu (2,466 hectares) of planting area and a water tourism site in Hesheng's Lujia Tan that occupies a total area of 40 hectares, providing tourists with a good environment in which to relax.

According to Tang Jingming, Party secretary of Hesheng, the county currently has spare farm houses littered across 482,000 square meters of land. "Hesheng will introduce vacation farm projects in this area with multi-cooperation models such as seasonal rentals," Tang added.

As introduced by Tang, Hesheng county has also planned to embrace core areas to promote its vacation farm tourism industry. For instance, a cultural core area will be constructed around the Sichuan Art Training College and Sichuan Business Training College. The county farm cultural area will be established around Yangliuhe village, Jinmahe village and Futong Road.
