China’s Eight Famous Cuisines are available in Chongqing

Shandong cuisine 鲁菜

Shandong cuisine is represented by the Qilu flavor, which originated from Shandong —the birthplace of Chinese cooking culture. As the only spontaneous cuisine of the Chinese Eight Famous Cuisines, Shandong cuisine boasts the longest history, most comprehensive techniques and most advanced skill.

Qilu Dumplines 齐鲁饺子馆

There are few Shandong cuisine restaurants in Chongqing, while this Qilu Jiaozi with 20 years of history is rather authentic. Although the specialty is Jiaozi, there are several dishes which have special Shandong flavor.

Jiangsu cuisine 苏菜

The Jiangsu cuisine, also called Huaiyang cuisine, began in the spring and autumn period, became popular in Sui and Tang Dynasty, and flourished in Ming and Qing dynasty. It was awarded the title of "Southeastern China's Tastiest Dish", particularly known for melon carving. Famous dishes are Stewing Pork Balls with Crab Sauce, Santao Duck and Squirrel Mandarin Fish, etc.

Shuiying Restaurant 水影餐厅

Shuiying Restaurant, as the first Chongqing Huai-yang cuisine restaurant, has Stewing Pork Balls with Crab Sauce as one of their specialties.
