Using the self-developed hydropower gen sets in China, the station will have an installation capacity of 16 million kilowatts and be capable of generating an average of 62.44 billion kilowatt-hours annually. The station will be able to control a water area of 430,300 square meters and hold 7.5 billion cubic meters of water upon completion in 2022.
In addition to meeting the electricity demands of Yunnan and Sichuan, the station will become an important power supply base belonging to the national West-East Electricity Transmission Project.
