Hand-painted landmarks of Chongqing

2017-08-21 11:15:25

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- “When we were young, it was happy to build a house. When we grow up, it is happy to buy a house.”Recently, the hand-painted pictures have been very hot online. The landmarks familiar to Chongqing citizens turn into the toys of children. A simple sentence on each picture reflects the truth and memory, and is of life philosophy.

Such hand-painted pictures released by cq.sina.com showcase the landmarks including Jiefangbei, Cathay Theater, Caiyuanba Yangtze River Bridge, Line 2, Chongqing Amusement Park and Tongyuan Gate. It is childlike that the Caiyuanba Yangtze River Bridge turns into a children's slide and bears a sentence “It is happy to slide down when I was young, but now it is happy to climb up”.

Such pictures are very novel and form a delightful contrast with Chongqing landmarks. “We wanted to grow up when we were young. However, we cherish the memory of childhood when we are grown up now.”

Yang Huan and Wang Yun, who made the pictures, said in an interview that they cherish the memories of their childhood very much when they started their career life. They are very regretful when seeing the young are playing on their smartphones or iPADs at home. They made such pictures by the recommendation and with the aid of Liu Chuntian, who is a famous painter. Wang Yun said: “We want to call upon the young to have a more interesting summer holiday by virtue of such pictures”. As local residents, they have a cordial feeling for Chongqing, and they want to help more young people understand and love Chongqing this way.

Such pictures may be included in the Illustrated Handbook of Chinese Beauties, which is the first one of China.

It is said that childhood is a golden field, green river and colorful beach. Viewing such pictures, do you think of your childhood now? (Translated by Liu Hongyan, Fathom Language Limited)
