Teachers' paintings in the community

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, when Mr. Dai, who lives in a large residential community near Shiyou Road, took his child for walk, he was surprised to find some cartoon images of Peppa Pig painted on the inconspicuous cement floor by the roadside. The paintings were out of some art teachers' public-spiritedness. As owners in residential compounds, they spent their spare time decorating the community with their own paintings.

Reporters learned that several cement floors and well covers by roadsides in community had acquired a completely new look. In addition to cartoon drawings, some even have the words "welcome home". During the interview, many residents said those seemingly unimportant changes would give them a better mood.

The paintings were out of teachers' public-spiritedness.

So who is the author of these cartoon paintings? After multiple interviews, reporter understood that they are painted by some art teachers who also live in this community and teach children painting.

The reporter interviewed one teacher, Ms. Guo. She said that because they often spend a lot of time within the community together with children, they want to beautify the shared living space. After negotiations with the property management sector, they decided to make an attempt on the cement floors and well lids by the roadsides. Ms. Guo said that starting in August this year, they began to paint the pictures in their spare time. There are four paintings by now. It is learned most of these art teachers are in their twenties and thirties.

Children will be brought to participate in the creating process.

Ms. Guo said they would add some hand drawn cartoon paintings — popular among children — on the non-decorated walls. Unlike the previous paintings created by teachers themselves, children will be encouraged to participate in the painting process this time, in order to help children form the awareness of taking care of their home community.
