Zhou Meiling and Bie Ge win a gold and a bronze for the Chongqing Delegation, respectively

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Chongqing Delegation harvested one gold medal and one bronze medal on September 5th from the women’s 57kg Taekwondo by Zhou Meiling and the men’s 200m by Bie Ge respectively. It is the first gold medal of Zhou Meiling at the National Games and also the third gold medal for the Chongqing Delegation.

So far, plus the medals from team events, Chongqing Delegation has harvested 4 gold, 7 silver and 8 bronze medals.

Uphill fight for championship

Zhou Meiling’s road to the championship was not clear sailing. She won by a narrow margin in two rounds of competition and even in the final, she defeated the rival by only one point. It is worth mentioning that at the opening ceremony, she was the flag-bearer of the Chongqing Delegation. She defended her honor as the flag-bearer with this gold medal.

Bie Ge won a bronze medal for Chongqing Delegation in the men’s 200m final by 20″78.

Xie Zhenye, a famous athlete from Zhejiang Delegation won the laurel by 20″20, breaking his own record (20″40). He could rank the fourth at the 2017 World Championship in London by this result.
