An activity encouraging local residents to live a healthy lifestyle was carried out in the Wenjiang district's Tianfu community in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, on Sept 1.

Free health services measuring participants' blood pressures were made available at the activity, with medical personnel helping to establish health records for local residents. Additionally, health experts on site also gave tips for daily exercise.

Health publicity brochures, salt spoons and oilcans with scales were distributed at the activity. According to an official from the Tianfu community, the health publicity activity was welcomed by local residents. "I hope that everyone can try to avoid unhealthy habits and improve their health," said the official.
