CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Peony Pavilion directed by Yue Meiti and Hu Jinfang will be on the stage of Chongqing Grand Cultural Palace Theater in November. The classic drama will be widely shown with different stages.

The Peony Pavilion is recomposed according to a storyteller's script from the Ming Dynasty. It is the magnum opus of Tang Xianzu, who once said “my best work is The Peony Pavilion.” This work is the masterpiece of romanticism in the history of Chinese Traditional Opera.

This opera is different from the one shown in original version, because it does not start from the ordinary one but the heading in the original work. At the beginning, the qupai Butterflies Lingering Over Flowers (《蝶恋花》) sang by Grand Flower God surrounded by flower goddesses and gods is the first qupai of Tang Xianzu. It shows the difference between this one and the previous.
