CHENGDU, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- A giant panda, released into the wild four years ago, was reported as healthy by the forestry department in southwest China's Sichuan Province on Friday.

The female panda, named Zhang Xiang, was caught Thursday in Yuerping, Sichuan by staff from Liziping and Yele nature reserves.

It was released back to the wild at 2 a.m. Friday after veterinarians from China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda completed a full physical examination.

Zhang Xiang weighed 87 kilograms and the examination showed standard physical indicators.

It was the second time that the panda had been caught after being released into the wild in Liziping Nature Reserve on Nov. 6, 2013 following two years of wilderness training.

Zhang Xiang was born on August 20, 2011.
