International School Team Chess Championship ends in Chongqing
CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The First Chongqing “The Belt and Road” International School Team Chess Championship was just held in Nan’an, Chongqing. Fourteen teams from twelve countries participated in the contest. During the competition, many grandmasters such as Xie Jun, Zhang Zhong and Huang Qian had battles with 80 young players.

The Championship attracted 14 teams from 12 countries, including China, Singapore, Qatar, India, Russia, France, Hungary, Poland, Australia, America, Iran and Canada. China sent 3 teams and 4 young players from Chongqing Jiangnan Primary School were selected to participate.
The Championship is a 15+5 rapid tournament by Swiss system of seven rounds. The Organizing Committee set six group awards and three individual awards. One of China’s representative teams won the second prize in team competition, after the Indian team; and Hungarian team won third place.
Grandmasters such as Xie Jun, Zhang Zhong and Huang Qian played games with 80 young players, who were very happy to play chess with the masters.
