CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- What will happen if Nanshan Botanical Garden cooperates with Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne? Recently, the Management Office of Chongqing Nanshan Botanical Garden and Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne held a Memorandum of Cooperation Signing Ceremony. The two parties will communicate and cooperate on combating climate change and exchange plants for scientific and conservational purposes.
Built in 1959, the Nanshan Botanical Garden (former Nanshan Park) is one of the typical large low mountain plants botanical gardens of China. It covers an area of 551ha, contains over 400 kinds of plants and is a member of Botanic Gardens Conservation International and the International Association Of Botanic Gardens.
Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne is one the world’s most famous botanic gardens and the largest botanic garden in the southern hemisphere. Built in 1846, it has collected over 12,000 categories and 30,000 kinds of plants from worldwide and cultivated over 20,000 kinds of exotic plants. And its landscape design and construction is among the worlds best.
Through the cooperation, the two parties will communicate and work together to combat climate change.
